Description

For Book Character Day last week, I transformed into Effie Trinket again, this time in her Quarter Quell Reaping outfit from the Catching Fire film!!

It was a WONDERFUL day! If you want to know the deets, check out the journal I posted, but otherwise here's a quick run down of fun facts re: THE COSTUME!

FAQ (from the students at the school I work at):

Where did you get it (the costume)?
I made it all myself. ^^;

Where did you get the shoes?
I bought them from an op-shop/thrift-shop for $7 ... and then I painted them, and attached Plastimake claws to the wedges. (You can't see the fangs in this photo, so I'll try to post another brighter one later).

How long did it take you to make it all?
I think about two months, working on it on and off(??!) I only started glueing butterflies onto the dress about a month ago, though.

How many butterflies are there?
No idea! I ran out of feather butterflies several times, so I had to attempt to recreate about a hundred or so more by hand. D: The feather ones were all purchased from the lovely folk at Floraltrims</a>. I highly recommend them (in particular, Evelyn, who was so friendly and helpful and patiently responded to all my crazy emails!) if you're ever in need of realistic-looking fake butterflies for costumes, crafts or art-projects!

Where did you get the wig?
I bought it online, but styled it myself in only an hour and a half! I couldn't believe everything actually worked out! :')

What will you do next year??!!
NO IDEA! (I'm open to suggestions!!!!)

If anyone else has any questions, please ask! :D
