OP - Usopp the Man by Berpi OP - Usopp the Man by Berpi
All set for the challenges of the New World, Usopp trained hard in his two years on the Boin Archipelago.
He's ready to see his nakama.
He'll show them he's harder ... better ... faster ... stronger ...
and still a cowardly idiot! XD

Finally uploading some pics from Wai-Con early this year where [link] Mutiny Go! Cosplay reunited the Straw Hat crew. I hope you like the new-and-improved 'Captain' Usopp! :) I made almost everything you see here, although HUGE thanks and gratitude must go to Sofie/Nami who sewed my pants. The nose was my first attempt at latex work (the one in the picture is version 2.3).

your usopp is so perfect *^* nicely done!

Just wondering please don't take offense I'm asking as I may cosplay him ~did you use your natural skin colour or did you use any fake tan or snazzaro or is it photoshop?

Hey there! Thanks so much!! I'm so glad you like him!
No offence taken! :D I actually already have fairly olive coloured skin, so I didn't need to tan or anything.
So, yeah! It's my own! ;) I only used a bit of foundation on my face to blend the nose in.
(Usopp's one of the only cosplays I've done where I didn't have to powder lighter or something!)

Wow, this is as accurate as it gets when it comes to cosplaying in my opinion. Splendid job! What did you use for the nose?
Berpi Featured By Owner Jul 3, 2014
Thanks so much!

I actually created the prosthetic from latex! It was extremely light and mostly comfortable, even though putting it on involves a lot of spirit gum. It's the best nose I've had yet, but I would like to improve even more for the next! :D

Wow, I didn't expect that. I'm also a big Usopp fan, but I've got to say that Sanji (although very patronizing to women) is my favorite. I kind of want to start doing cosplay, now that I've seen some really well-done stuff on dA. I dressed as Luffy for school on Halloween once. Monkey D. Luffy (Smile) [V2]

Hahaha! Usopp is my favourite but I do love Sanji and his story. :)
Cosplay doesn't have to be as hardcore and expensive as some make it out to be. The important thing to do is to look at the key features of your character and to see what you can improvise with. I find op-shopping/thrift-shopping for materials really helps! If you're just starting out and don't possess many skills yet (like how I started out!) modification and altering is a great way to begin.
Happy to chat more if it helps! :)
